I am pleased to share with you that V.K. Degree College has completed its 14 years with exemplary dedication. For this I would like to convey my heartfelt gratitude to our Padam Shri Swami Kalyan Dev ji Maharaj, who had been a great source of inspiration in all our endeavors. I would also like to express my gratitude to the founder of the college honorable Shri Virendra Kumar Bansal who toiled hard to get the aim of the institutions.
They all worked very hard to impart the higher education to the poor, helpless, deprived, and destitute girls of the village. There was a great aspiration in their heart to soar higher and higher sitting on the wings of learning. Therefore, the society of some dedicated person of the town laid the foundation of the college with an objective of imparting quality education to the girls in 1996. With sincere effort, immense hard work and strong determination the college was commenced with a modest admission of merely 60 students. But it gives me immense pleasure in informing you that now it has strength of about 400 students in the academic session 2009-2010.
I congratulate the management, the staff and the students for achieving and maintaining a high academic standard and also doing so well in co-curricular activities.
The college is known for the spirit of joy and hard work a spirit of discipline and intellectual achievement, a spirit of excitement and success. The college has made significant progress both in academics and co-currcular activities and I am sure that the staff and students will continue to do well in their pursuits towards excellence in all fields.
The splendid building of the college, constructed in 1996. can accommodate up to about 800 students. This building is set amidst green stretch of lawns. Our college has a spacious, airy and confortably furnished class rooms. It has a computer room equipped with more than 30 computers. It has more than 400 students from villages, local area, and from other distant places. Today we have enrolled over 400 students.
Emphasis is also laid on various co-curricular activities that involve the students both physically and mentally. "Healthy mind dwells in healthy body". Games and sports have always maintained their importance in a student's life, both from educational and social perspective. Apart from keeping the body healthy, they also help in grooming the overall personality of the students by making them more composed, team spirit. Indoor activities are conducted at regular intervals to develop a physical strength and competitive spirit in students. The college is embedded richly with the playground for Badminton, kho-kho. As good friends are rare to find so are the good books. The library forms a very important part and shares it commitment to excellence of the institute. A well-equipped library is the backbone of any Academic Institution.
"Working together means winning together". It has been to me a proud privilege and honour to be associated with the most supporting college management, specially most dedicated to college honorable Shri Ishwar Singh-President and Vinod Gupta Secretary and a team of diligent members of the teaching staff of the college who is well qualified, almost all the teachers are adorned with Ph.D. Degree, having profound knowledge of their subjects. They all are devoted and dedicated whole-heartedly to the well-being of the college and students. They all believe that "the whole are of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young mind for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards."
We can not achieve anything unless there is peaceful atmosphere in the college. The Proctorial Board of the college keeps a sharp vigil. The students are nurtured with care to enable them to achieve not only academic excellence but also developed into a complete, compassionate and charming personality. The college emphaszes not only on making students academically brilliant but also at the same time an all round development of their personalities is also ensured.
It gives me an immense sense of pleasure that the college over the years has grown from strenth to strength. Today it is amongst the leading Degree college of C.C.S. The very survival of the college is initially based on its excellent, outstanding and sometimes stunning result. On many occassion our students have added glory and laurel to the college.
I also extend my gratefulness to the contribution of honorable members of the Management Committee, the members of teaching and non-teaching staff who toiled hard in upgrading the college environment. I thank students and their parents and staff for their great support.
